I'm planning on quilting a wall hanging which is a full piece of fabric showing a family of wolfs. What I need help with is how should I quilt this together? Should I just quilt it all over with stipple or should I just quilt around the picture of the wolfs. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Oooh, thats really neat. I think I would outline the wolves, maybe outline the tree trunks maybe either stipple where the leaves are or swirls. and then maybe throw some pebbling in around the rocks. Cant wait to see it done. be sure to post.

If you aren't afraid of thread painting. That would be absolutely awesome. It might make it look better than just stippling or outlining, but then, who am I to say. Whatever you do will be wonderful.

By the way, is that panel still available?

I was able to buy one on eBay just now.

I think just outlining the wolves. Nice wall hanging.

It depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it. No idea is better than the next, just giving you my idea per your request :):)

Very pretty! Can't wait to see what you do ;)

I would stitch around the wolves, up and down the trees and branches, outline some leaves, etc. Go along with the print of the panel.

I have a simillar panel and plan to outline the animals. Might also try a little thread painting.

One of my next projects is actually thread painting on a pre-printed panel -- however it is 4 or 5 different blocks that I cut apart and I need to get matching fabric to piece ti back together before I do.

So I would go with thread painting!

I was going to say that! It is beautiful!

BTW, they just discovered another pack of wolves in northwestern Washington state!

I would outline the wolves and trees.

I don't know what thread painting is, but I would outline it. In black thread. The wolves, the trees, the leaves, rocks. Outstanding. I love doing panels and outline by hand work like that.

I agree with wolfkitty. Would love to see what you decide to do.
