Need Help

I started this quilt I am guessing last summer and thought it to be to bright for a queen quilt and I have all the blocks done and half of the rows put together, but when I look at it I think it would be better as four small lap quilts, so my question to all of you is, should I keep going for queen or take it apart and make four small quilts?

That is very pretty! I like your idea of the small quilts.

ArtsyOne 08-18-2012 07:28 AM

I think it's beautiful! As a queen, it would depend on the room's decor - is it modern and contemporary? If so, this would be a great addition. If you decide to make four smaller quilts, they'd be great too. I love your color combinations.

Keep it as is. Don't waste good work and time. I like the bold colors, doesn't matter what size it is. It will keep a bed good and warm. lovely.

I think it is very pretty, bold, and says hey look at me! Good job!

I, too, would finish it as a queen. It is so colorful & bright. I love it.

Tweety2911 08-18-2012 08:02 AM

I would finish it to a queen. It is beautiful and lively! Once quilted it will be awesome!

It will look great on a queen size bed. Do you have a queen size bed to put it on? If not then maybe in half for matching twin beds? It is beautiful!

red-warrior 08-18-2012 08:37 AM

I love it either way! It would not be too bright for me as a queen and I would probably put a black border on it.

alfosa421 08-18-2012 08:52 AM

Its very bright If you don't have the decor to go with such a bold quilt I would make 2 or 4 smaller ones. Love the colors though Go with your heart

I also like it as a Queen.
I love colour

Kttyhwk4 08-18-2012 10:05 AM

I wouldn't take it apart...think it will make a wonderful queen quilt.

TacoMama 08-18-2012 10:38 AM

I, too, love it either way. Love the bright colors.

DebraK 08-18-2012 10:43 AM

me too, but it is ultimately your decision.

Sierra 08-18-2012 10:44 AM

If it stays as a queen be prepared to get more of the fabric and make curtains also. The colors and pattern are great. No matter what you do you can't lose.

I agree... this is so stunning that any way you choose to finish it would be good. I'm not familiar with this pattern but I love it! What is it?

The pattern is called Hugs and Kisses by Jaybird Quilts, you have to have the Creative Grid Lazy Angle Ruler for this pattern.

Also I would like to thank everyone for there help, still taking in all the feedback for my decision.

Don't forget, you can use thread to tone it down a little.

Beautiful quilt.

noveltyjunkie 08-18-2012 03:27 PM

I find it much easier on the eye when I turn the screen and the stripes run horizontally.

raedar63 08-18-2012 03:33 PM

I would use it as a queen , I have no decorating style though ,I just go with what I like :)

Just Jan 08-18-2012 03:50 PM

I'd leave it as one piece, but calm it down with a wide dark border (the same color as the diamonds in the design.) You could also make dark pillow shams with borders that match the quilt. Its very pretty.

joyce888 08-18-2012 04:13 PM

Very pretty. I think the lap quilt idea is perfect.

sewdarnbusy 08-18-2012 04:41 PM

If you have enough fabric for a queen, don't divide it up. It's beautiful. Make small quilts when you don't have enough fabric for a large quilt. BUT, If for some reason you NEED small matching quilts then go for it. I love those fabrics.
It's a pleasure to look at no matter the size.

Jammin' Jane 11-14-2012 03:27 PM

It's really pretty! I like the idea of the queen!! :)

Rose S. 11-14-2012 05:16 PM

Oh, I would go for the queen! Going to be soooo beautiful and bright and cherry!

patski 11-14-2012 05:18 PM

I think it will be great as a queen size. Bright colors are wonderful, very cheerful
