I want to make my husbands grandma (almost 95) a warm blanket for using in her wheelchair. I decided to make it out of flannel because she is very thin and is always cold this time of year.

I found these fabrics but can't decide on a pattern.

I need one that will be fast as time is a bit of an issue.

I may not use all the fabrics as I like some more than others - (the smallest cut is 1/2 yard)

The only pattern that comes to mind is a D9P, as the variety of fabrics will give it a scrappy look.

Any other ideas?

I made my mother-in-law a turning twenty quilt with 9 fat quarters and some borders. It was just the right size. I also used fleece for the backing. It keeps her warm in her wheel chair as she is almost 94 and very frail.

I think a D9P or Yellow Brick Road would be pretty. Do you think she'd like a rag quilt? Rail fence would be quick, too. Love the top 2 florals.

I just had to say that the owl fabric in the back made me smile! Great choices, and I know that whatever pattern you choose, it will be beautiful.

One I have done, goes together quickly, looks like you spend more time.
Pretty fabrics
Cut large florals into 10 or 12" squares.(You can use any size square that you choose) since your print is larger, larger squares will allow it to show. Set on point. frame with smaller prints or solids. I do the setting on point by sewing two blocks together all around. Draw an x corner to corner and cut on outside fabric.. press open. sew blocks together and add a border.
For wheelchair bound people, I add 3 ties. 2 on top the third lower to anchor to chair. That way it will not slide off.

Good luck. Enjoy grandma.

Show us a pic after you finish regardless of design.

How about 10" or 12" squares with sashing in between with a fleece back. My mom (85) gets cold, too. The fleece is cozy and warm.
