My DH is a wood guy, and he has taught me a couple of tricks to refurbishing...for the top, you can peel off the broken veneer and get new at Home Depot or one of the other wood places. Then you cut it and glue it on, and then stain it to match.
|
Your son is sure a keeper! Good luck with refinishing.
|
Cool! How thoughtful of him!

WOW ! My son would have run the other way  How lucky you are

Kudos to your son. He did well. Wonder how old that machine is?
Looks like the old hammered finish. Not rough, but knubby(sp). |
Cool.

What is the serial number on the machine and I can help you date it. I am thinking somewhere in the mid to late 20's but I wont know for sure until I see the number. Looks like the old hammered finish. Not rough, but knubby(sp). Billy |
Looks like only the top of the cabinet needs new veneer.
The rest of it looks like it could be stripped with a regular stripping product and steel wool. What a beauty!!! What a thoughtful son you have! |
