Needing Help/Opinions

I recently made this quilt for a friend, and it's all finished with some nice quilting in the pink zig zags. When I made this one, though, I made another at the same time, for myself. I've come to the quilting stage and on my quilt, those zig zags are a dark brown, more of an accent to make the rest of the quilt pop. I really don't want to do any heavy quilting in those zig zags on mine, so do you think that if I just didn't quilt in those zig zags at all, that it would be fine? They're 2.5" strips, and I've already done SID around the edges. I used a cotton poly blended batting, if that information helps.

I would think that doing at least a row of stitching down in the middle would hold everything together nicely if minimal stitching is what you are looking for.

Check the batting package for the minimum quilting distance if you have it. If you don't, 2-1/2 inches in the zig zag should be fine in a polyester batt. You've SITD on each side so I don't think it's going to move. Is that the X block ruler block? It's very pretty.

If you want to go with the simple design without alot of quilting, I think it would look fine with just the SITD, but like Tartan said, check for the minimum quilting distance. Good luck. I like your quilt. Thanks for sharing.

The batting does say 2-4" and I know I have it covered on the horizontal aspect, but I wasn't sure if it would be a problem lengthwise. I thought that since the strips zig zag across the batting, instead of a straight line, that it would be fine.
Thanks! This is the X Blocks Sleeping Beauty pattern. |
It looks really pretty! I like the pattern! :)

If you've SID'd on either side of the zig-zag's I would think you'd be fine. Nice pattern!
