Does she have a name?

rndelling 03-22-2010 11:00 AM

I have had a Brother CS 6000 for several years and love it. Yours has more bells and whistles but alot of the same as mine.

Very nice, you've got a good selection of decorative stitches there. I use them on pot holders so I don't have to sew the binding on the back by hand. Just use one of those stitches on top and it catches on the bottom.

I love the pillow - and with a decorative stitch! :D

That is a really nice extension table. Not all machines come with them.

paintedquilt 03-22-2010 11:31 AM

She's purdy  :P :!:

watson's mom 03-22-2010 11:32 AM

Love this machine!!! All those stitches too, and the extension table, and the screen. You get it, I really like this machine.

cizzors 03-22-2010 11:57 AM

Me and my sister (Dingle) just bought that one.

She calls and tells me all the neat things it does while I keep sewing along stopping only long enough to try out the features!

Cost was $200.00 but since we work at that wicked store, we get a 10% discount.

She is just adorable. Congrats.

Oklahoma Suzie 03-22-2010 01:12 PM

I bought it at Walmart, $199.99. They just came in last week.

I had to look at this machine tonight after seeing this thread. Surprising that it is so inexpensive and has so many features. My sweet husband asked me if this is what I want. I said I don't really know, I don't need it. And I certainly don't want it instead of the Featherweight I keep telling him about. He just kept asking me and said not today, but........

So how do you like it? Does it sew like a heavier machine? The box seemed kinda light. Sounds like a too good to be true deal. But maybe not. I think we all need to know the good the bad and the ugly.

Have fun with your new baby.

sewnsewer2 03-22-2010 09:29 PM

So far I really like Suzy Q. She does everything I wanted. Love the quilt extension piece it came with. I would have liked one with a larger opening to quilt larger quilts.
I have not quilt stitched with it yet only monogramming and stitching the log cabin quilt top.
The automatic threader is great once you get the hang of it. Threading the bobbin is quick and easy. Being able to sew at the push of a button instead of the foot pedal is awesome. There is a foot pedal so you can sew either way. If the foot pedal is connected you can't use the push button control, the it's easy to disconnect the foot pedal.
It is heavier than it seems so that isn't an issue. I know some machined seem too light weight for quilting but this one seems o.k.
It comes with so many feet options! And when you choose a certain stitch to use it will tell you which foot to use!

For the price...... it should cost more for all it does.

Go for it if you can and if you don't already have those features with what you use now ---- its wonderful. If it's a case of it only has a few features you don't have now and you have a more expensive machine in mind that will do larger quilts, I would say save up for the other machine.

That's my opinion and my report on Suzy Q. :)

Elisabrat 03-23-2010 06:01 AM

Some of these machines.. can you like.. put the fabric on the machine go have lunch and come back and its finished? I think one has to go to school to learn all the possiblities with them. I hope you love her til she is old and worn out!

no1jan 03-25-2010 04:35 AM

Sounds like the perfect machine for you. Lots of features and lots of possibilities, lots of fun.
