It is very easy. I made this little quilt yesterday. I had purchased flannel on sale.I use it as batting in table runners and small quilts. It occurred to me when I laid it out on my cutting table,---- why not use it as batting AND the back fabric. One of those light bulb moments. I cut both batting and back at the same time, wrong sides together. No taping down,(the back fabric) just pinned the quilt top on to both .Ready to quilt.judy j

Great idea for the flannel

Think the block is called TWIN SISTERS. EB had it in one of her recent books.

Love the pattern but esp love the fabrics you used! This got me on an afternoon of looking for this pattern and found it on several sites at at least 3 different ways of constructing it! But of all I saw, I love your fabrics the best!

I made one similar to this last year. It was called Paddle Wheel. It looked like an inside out log cabin. There were more pieces in each quarter section. I found it very difficult to get those corner seam to be in the corner, since they are all on the bias, and the bigger they are, the more they move around like a horse's tail. I made marks on my ironing board, lined them up carefully, and starched them to keep them straight. Worked!

Looks great...

I think if one left out the sashing and cornerstones in the body of the quilt, the blocks would appear to interlock sort of like the twister blocks. Thanks for sharing the block and the links !!

Very nice. I use flannel as batting in any quilts I will be sending to florida, that way there not too warm, and have found that it works great.
