I've been toying with the idea of doing it also, but have so many UFos I need to complete. I would like it in 12' size rather then the 6" size.

I do not know free stitches with the sewing machine, so I applied by hand. But I like the way it is yours!
One question: to what extent each strip used to the sun?
I see your sun is 4 strip. I used strip of 1,5” (the designer said), but my sun took onky 3 strips!
I hope you understand (I use the Translator to communicate).
