Playswithcolor, mentioned warm wishes pattern lay out for my class. I stitched up another sample for class. They both preferred this one best. Thank you so much for the suggestion. Here is a photo of my new sample. Thanks for taking a look.

That is very inspiring, especially for a new quilter like myself. It looks like something I would not be afraid to attempt, and yet at the same time is is very pretty. Thanks for this!

Hopflower, I had two coworkers at my house tonight to do this quilt, we only worked for two hours, and that included getting familiar with two new machines. Both have all pieces cut out and have one row together. You could do this. It was great fun and we will get together next week. I am thinking we will be ready to put the boarders on next week.

This looks great. What size are the blocks?

QuiltnNan 02-08-2013 02:34 AM

nicely done

Maggie_Sue 02-08-2013 04:11 AM

The blocks are 6.5 inches, finished size of the quilt is 40 inches square. Inner boarder 2.5 inches and final boarder 3.5.

I'm going to bookmark this because there's a great secondary pattern that shows up and depending on fabric placement you could make it recede or stand out. Thanks so much for posting this photo.

that is one of my favorite patterns, it goes together so easy. What I like best is you can vary the sizes to suit your focal print then adapt your strips to suit it. I have done it with 3 and 4 strips, it is so much fun just to play with it.

Great job!

Very, very nice. I can see this doing well in a class...I am excited about making one myself.

Homespun 02-08-2013 06:46 AM

Really nice! If you wanted it bigger you could make the blocks bigger!

I have Sesame Street fabric and 3 bright primary colors that go with the Sesame Street fabric; yellow, red, and blue. Do you think that the bright colors would overpower the main fabric?

blueangel 02-08-2013 03:27 PM

I really like that..

Maggie_Sue 02-08-2013 06:43 PM

grammy of 6 I think the bright fabrics would frame your focus fabric nicely. Would love to see yours.

It looks beautiful! Would you mind giving out the name of pattern, our quilting guild does many charity quilts for nursing homes as well as the NICU at local hospital. Thanks in advance and GOD bless
