My BF picked this out when we were at the Quilt Show this past weekend. I want to keep the pieces of this pretty big in the quilt, so I think I am going to do 9.5 inch squares of this whole, and then squares of something else... he wants flannel on the back as well. I think this is gonna be super cozy when finished!!

What gorgeous pics. My hubby, sons and SIL would love those pics of the animals. Can't wait to see it all done

Love your fabric. I would not want to cut it. :D :D

MellieKQuilter 05-17-2011 08:43 AM

I feel the same! Cutting it will be awful! Hopefully the big squares will do it justice.

What about using it a center panel and doing some squares around the outside...maybe log cabin or stars or something like that?

MellieKQuilter 05-17-2011 09:06 AM

I showed him a pattern like that, he didnt really like it...

9 patch pizazz is a book with lots of quilts designed for fabric you can't cut.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies! :)

I had that fabric before. Loved it. And yes keep the pics as much as possible. I cut out motif pics for my quilt. :)

Love the fabric ... I can't tell how large it is but how about leaving it in a giant square with a small sashing then some largish squares as another sashing then a border. Does that make any sense at all? Just trying to figure out a way to not have to cut it much.

Susan, that does make sense.. Hmmm, kinda like that thought. Now to explain it to the BF. :-)

I like Susans idea. That fabric is awesome. I love it. I have a pattern that the focus fabric is 27 1/2 X 18 1/2 then it has blocks around it. It ends up being 40 X 49. I wanted mine bigger so I made it bigger. Its called "Sew Be IT" The main feature from 2005. The designer is Cheryl Wittmayer. If your interested I can post a picture of 1 I did.

Here it is. I did end up putting some appliques around the outside. And this is the one I did for a wall so its the 40 x 49
