Both quilts are very nice. I love scrappies and your scrappy is different and a very nice use of scraps. Will try one like that one of these days. Thanks for showing your quilts.

gramquilter2 03-27-2012 03:36 PM

Both are very nice quilts. Really like the first one looks like it is from a modern pattern.

Great quilts.

Sewfine 03-27-2012 08:11 PM

Such beautiful quilt. Just love the star.

KayS 03-27-2012 10:32 PM

Love, love, love the star. Did you have a pattern for this. It looks like you sewed strips together, then made triangles. How wide were the strips?

beatys9 03-27-2012 10:45 PM

Great quilts but most of all, I really love your tagline "Living a 1/4" from the edge". Perfect :)

Beehiveof9 03-28-2012 04:52 AM

Lady Jane 03-28-2012 05:49 AM

What is the pattern name of the star quilt? Both are pretty.

I really like quilt #1. Simple, but beautiful.

Great work on both.

MimiBug123 03-28-2012 06:09 PM

Great job on both of them. You were really busy to get them both finished in a weekend! Love them both!!!

Rubesgirl 03-28-2012 06:47 PM

Both of them are just beautiful! I just finished the star pattern and it's surprising how the same design can look entirely different because of fabric choices. I love what you did with it! :)

sewnsewer2 03-28-2012 07:50 PM

So so pretty! Nice feet too! :D

Both quilts are lovely (and both sets of ankles, too). I think the way you did the corners of the star quilt is really cool - it looks like the corners are folding back into the star, "revealing" a second layer of fabric underneath. Very interesting effect - was this planned, or serendipitous?

I agree with alisonquilts!

It is my own made up pattern! I am writing it to teach at my LQS this summer. Glad you like it.

The star is my own design. I make them up as I go along. I get an idea and just cut and sew. The corners sort of "evolved. I wanted a cornerstone, but not a solid color. That looked boring. So, I made additional hst's. This is the 3rd "strippy star" (my name for them) quilt I have made. I am writing the pattern to teach at my LQS this summer. With all this possitive feedback, I might try to publish it! (I would just rather be quilting).
