Very striking fabric choices, You purse looks fantastic.
The pattern is very similar to the Peek a Book pattern that was shown in one of the Fons & Porter magazines. What a neat idea.

Is this technique the same as quiltigami? It is folding fabric like paper origami. Beautiful purse!

Bonnie 04-23-2011 03:04 PM

That is really pretty; Is it hard to get the hang of?

gonzales_pat 04-23-2011 03:08 PM

I think she means Folded Mexican Star. There is a pattern I've seen for a folded Mexican Star somewhere. Try these:

stitchntimesewing 04-23-2011 09:24 PM

This is awesome. Love it.

ashlett 04-23-2011 11:26 PM

O.K. I will do my best to tell you how. Cut a 6 and a half inch circle rfom one fabric and a 4 inch square from another, cut a 4 inch sqare of wadding. Turn in and tack a quarter inch seam on the circle then place the wadding under the 4 inch fabric sqare and place in the middle of the circle. Fold the circle over the square on each side and slip stich making sure the corners are precise. This method of patchwork can be made any size, just cut the square one and a half inches less than the circle. To join, place two units faceing and slip stich on the back.
