NEW pattern - well, sort of

I have used Cheaper by the Dozen for several quick/easy quilts. The fat quarters I had on hand for this manly quilt ended up being just too busy so I added sashing to separate the blocks. Then I adjusted the outer border to make the overall size of the quilt about the same as the original. I like the way it came out, but it just struck me funny that this practical adjustment would be marketed by some as something new and wonderful. Doesn't seem like I often make a pattern exactly as it's written. Sometimes the change is even on purpose!

The borders make it perfect. Very good colors. I hope you don't mind if I copy your pattern. :D

I hereby give you permission to use my creative adjustment.

Don't want to make too much fun because I am very thankful that Cheaper by the Dozen, Yellow Brick Road, Turning 12, etc exist and gladly buy the patterns hoping that the creators will be able to create more. Just struck me funny as I followed where this project took me - not at all where I thought I'd end up!

I've always wanted to try that pattern & after seeing yours -- complete with changes -- I'm even more determined to do so! This is one awesome quilt!

I know this is true of all of them, but it's amazing how different it looks with different fabrics. Here's one my mother loves:

and here's one that was hard to give up - but the young bride who got it was thrilled:

I have also used Cheaper by the Half Dozen for baby quilts.

I have been looking for a quilt pattern for my nephew.. This might be it. I have been collecting fly fishing fabrics for this quilt with no pattern in mind.. He graduates high schooling two years,so I have a little time.
