My Boss just walked in and gave me this machine and some material his wife did not want anymore. It is a Kenmore 1040 made in 1971 to 1976. have not plugged it in yet but sure it is fine. Has it's own case, I love this.

NICE....
Yeah for your boss.
What a nice boss. Maybe you could make the wife a little something as a thank you.
How nice!
Congrats.

Lucky girl!!

As the little rascals would say "ismuth be your lucky day", Im probably dating myself with that quote :-)

If that is the Kenmore that doesn't have any plastic parts it will last two lifetimes. My favorite for many years, got burned up in my car that burned in my driveway. It was on the way to the shop for cleaning. Think I was more upset at losing that portable machine then I was the Chrysler.

My Mom had a kenmore and it made the best buttonholes !
That was my past life; now I just quilt. Enjoy :) |
Oh how wonderful, happy dancing with you
Great day for you. Almost better than a raise.
How sweet he thought of you!
Congratulations!! I have one and I love it. Do you know that they are referred to as the "Kenmore Featherweight" and one in pristine condition goes for as much as $400. I bought mine at a yard sale almost 15 years ago and I use it all the time for going to classes. Its a real good little machine.

have fun playing!
Now I suppose to play it safe, you better make the bosses wife a quilt with it!
Have fun! |
