I'm recovering from a broken leg, which means I haven't been able to use the stairs at home to reach my sewing area. Having caught up with so much reading that I am almost sick of books (blasphemy I know! ) I decided to find something else to do.

I've gone through all the 2" squares I've been saving for my postage stamp quilt, picked out all the doubles, begged board members to trade with me or donate to the cause. Now await the mail man to deliver my swaps and donations. Thanks again to everyone for your help.

And once again I was left with nothing to do. I tried working on the instructions for some of my quilt designs, but I'm more of a write as I work type & again no sewing room. :-( So started working on designing more quilts and managed to edit one, finish another of my DIPs and develop an idea for a third. Yay me! Finally at about midnight Wed night I was hit with an inspirational idea. (I know I don't need to tell you that any idea received at 12am is not a good idea)

I came across a tut for a wholecloth quilt and decided to try my hand at it. It's going to be a small wall hanging for my parents house. I'm working on a sort of monogram idea. I'll figure out the rest later, but would appreciate ideas.

Since I can't get down on the floor to baste the layers, got slightly creative and duct taped everything to the peninsula in our kitchen. It seemed to work out okay (but took forever) and I've got it on my loom. I'm using a variegated thread that works with the colors in the kitchen and living room areas. I drew an outside border that's 41.5 x 18.25, nice size wall hanging I think.

I used washable ink, so it's very light

As they say, "if you can't duck it..."

I'm tentatively promising to do weekly posts. I think that will keep me on track and keep this from being another 3 year UFO.

Good thinking. Continue to take it easy.
No matter what the need. Duct tape to the rescue.
When I drove my son to camp, my dad put duct tape in the car for emergency roadside fixes. :)

I use painters blue tape on my island to sandwich quilts. Works great!

(can't wait to see your end results!)

Nope. Of course if it had been on longer that might have been an issue. I also cut the fabric 2" wider so if it had made it gunky it would have been cut off when I trimmed the edges.

FYI - To those not already in the know, rubbing alcohol and acetone will cut through adhesive gunk, no problem, but be careful with delicate surfaces as acetone can cause colors to run if you use too much.

Not bad for a "Midnight Fever Rush". Can't wait to see it done!
