Here is a quilt top for my daughter. Not done yet .I don't know to tie it or hand quilt. And if I hand Quilt it what design do I use?

reneebobby 06-27-2008 02:14 AM

Beautiful! Sorry I can't give you any advice on quilting, but it's going to be gorgeous any way you do it!

Love the colors and pattern. No ideas for you though. We are a big help, aren't we?????

Knot Sew 06-27-2008 03:51 AM

I love this type of quilt, you did a great job :D

Very NICE!!! I love it. I bought some Blacks and reds about a year ago thinking to do something like that, but have done nothing with it yet. I really like bold and graphic quilts like yours but they are so outside the norm for me, I just freeze up thinking about it. I guess its that thing about getting out of your comfort zone!

Wow. That is awesome. Is that that 1.000 paramid? I think its called. I was looking at the pattern last night. Way cool girl

Quilt4u 06-27-2008 04:41 AM

It can be called that. I go by a trangle charm quilt.

Bevanger 06-27-2008 04:52 AM

ahhhhhhhhh ok. thank you

tlrnhi 06-27-2008 06:11 AM

Really pretty!!!

You have been really busy! That is a beautiful quilt. I love the black/white/red combination. Striking! I have no clue how I would quilt it (well, yes I do-I would send it to my long arm quilter and let her decide-but I know that does not help you any. Sorry!)

Quilt4u 06-27-2008 06:53 AM

That is a Queen size quilt; and my daughter who I love very much has lost one that I sent out to be quilted. Never agian.

Moonpi 06-27-2008 07:30 AM

Lively! It will be beautiful.

bebe 06-27-2008 07:50 AM

I would hand quilt but just follow the triangle pattern and do stich in the ditch!!!

Love the quilt and love the colors. I'm a Texas Tech Red Raider and red and black are our school colors. Very nice. Doesn't it make you a little crazy when things get "lost" by people with no emotional investment in them. I'd be so mad that a quilt got lost. Did the quilter reimburse you for the quilt? I just can't imagine...my mind is boggled!

I've made a couple of these and had the same quandary. I saw one somewhere that I'd like to try, though. They quilted a zig-zag with the lines started at the wide portion of each triangle. Don't know if that explains it properly. Just draw a line from the middle of the wide section of a triangle to the wide section of the adjacent triangle. Looked great when I saw it.

Great looking quilt.

I think it will look good which ever way you go...mighty sharp that's for sure..

abacus 06-27-2008 02:20 PM

quilt4u -- I know this is not very imaginative; but what about quilting inside each pyamid 1/4 inch? Would help to emphasize the shape of the pyramid while at the same time keeping the design simple. I think it would make it look like an antique quilt. Just a thought.

Thanks

I just love the colors, it is beautiful. I think I would stich in the ditch, the triangls are small enought, it would really make them jump out.

sandpat 06-30-2008 05:27 AM

Very pretty quilt! However you decide to quilt it, it will turn out gorgeous!
