I am new to quilting. I have made two tie quilts but that is all. I have some material to make my step daughter a quilt for her College dorm room. I would like some suggestions that would make a good quilt and maybe easy. LOL I have attached some pictures for you to see. #1 is what I was thinking to use as backing. #2 and #3 and #4 are the ones that are multiple panels and I am not sure what to do with them.

How about cutting pictures out of the materials such as the horses, bufalo, Indians, cowboys, eagles, and cattle. Then find some fabric with "less going on" to frame them in something like a log cabin.

You could also try a OBW.?.

Thanks, would suggest a solid color or I have a fabric which you can see in the first picture which has buffalo on them. Could I use that as the background?

I agree with a OBW that is if ou have enough yardage! That would be very cool. Welcome to the quilting world!

You can do anything you want. Play around with different fabrics and see what YOU like best. Ask a friend or your stepdaughter to see what they think. Good luck can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thank you but unfortunately have no one to ask because my stepdaughter lives 4 hrs away and I don't really have any friends that I talk to here in town. I will keep asking you guys because you know what to do and you also are easier to ask. I found a sight with a OBW on it if you think that would work. http://abbquilts.blogspot.com/2008/0...variation.html Here is the sight, if you wouldn't mind looking and then telling me what you think? Thanks again.

I went to the site and that is a 4 quarter posey I think I have this pattern and I think it would be a challenge for someone just starting out. I am not very much more experienced than you and when I first asked people here they advised me to try warm wishes which turns out a very pretty quilt and it easy to do.http://www.quiltmaker.com/patterns/d...html?idx=5185_ Go here and see what you think. I can see some fussy cuts from your fabric looking really good used this way.

I like that and it does look easier than the one that I showed you. I am printing it out right now and will read about it. Thanks
