Here are two pics of a quilt I hand pieced over the summer but set down. I started back up over the weekend and am hand quilting. It is roughly twin size and has a blue border and blue backing. I am using chalk so that is what you may see in the pic.
I have never really sewn before except maybe to add buttons so things may look a bit off. The last pic is a square showing by stitching. I have 21 squares done out of 150 (plus the border to do). I may add a smaller diamond in the larger diamond later. |
I think your quilt is beautiful! You chose great colors, and when you get it all quilted I think you will be very pleased!

You have a great future ahead of you....

Great job. Your stitches are very good. I'd love to be able to hand stitch like that and I've been sewing for years.

God bless you for the hand quilting. You've done a splendid job piecing the quilt. Just wait until you are done quilting and you will notice a big transformation from before and after. Don't quit now!

Some people are born to quilt. Elle |

|

|
Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement. You can make someone feel real good!
I remember looking at quilt pics from when signed up in July. Everyone is so inspiring. Jacquemoe comes to mind...among others I see today. Now....I need to find bigger thimbles! |
That is gorgeous! My sister told me when she was down that people in the north are clamoring and offering big money for HAND quilted. Yours would bring great money for the coloring and the hand sewing. What size needle do you use?
Great job!! Sharon |
Very nice!
|
Love the colors. Great job!!
|
You flatter me Sharon in thinking I know what I am doing! They were some needles I bought from the grocery store.
I have to say it is harder to hand quilt but I think it is because I used two layers of batting (I bend one needle already). When I washed the cotton batting, I should have put it in a pillow case or something. It got thin in spots. Being thrifty, I decided to use both of them! I can only do 2 sts at a time. I guess I'll learn. I have to say, I have not worked on this alot but yesterday was the first day it finally felt relaxing. |
