I've been on an organizing kick in my sewing room and decided I needed a better way to keep my rulers where they would be out of the way, but still easily accessible. So I started messing around in the wood shop, and here are a couple of ruler racks I just finished. My DD will get her pick of one of these for Christmas :P , and I'll keep the other one. They are both made out of pine with a hand rubbed beeswax and lemon oil finish.
The first one is made to mount on the wall and hold an assortment of large rulers on the shelf as well as smaller rulers and templates in the front slots. The second one sits on the sewing table, or could be mounted to the wall with small shelf brackets. I consider these both to be "prototypes", and would welcome suggestions for improved functionality. Wow, talk about talent. I keep hinting to my retired hubby about projects like that but I have not seen any of it yet. I like the dept of the table top one, good work.

I bought a plastic rack for envelopes and such at the Good will for 99 cents and I've got my rulers on it and it is so nice because I can easily find the ruler I want. I'm going to make a hanging one for my 9 and 10 degree rulers and also my long ruler and they will be out of the way when Not in use. Huggies, Fay
