So this is yet another one for the craft fair. I'm trying to make at least 10 of these...maybe more depending on time. I've got until July 1st to get everything done...feeling overwhelmed! LOL So I'm thinking of selling these for $20...thoughts?

It's the whimsey bag design by lazy girl

Can you see the pockets?

I added velcro to give it a closer...I like it!

I am thinking at least $25.00. Your time in addition to the fabric is valuable.

Love it!

I think more. Closer to $40. If you do not value your work, neither will anyone else.l

I love it! And I'll definitely pay $20 and more for it. It is beautiful.

thequilteddove 04-29-2010 05:47 PM

At $20 they'll sell like hot cakes!

MNQuilter 04-29-2010 05:49 PM

Boy, $20 seems really underpriced! I would bet you have close to that just in material, especially if you used fusable fleece. I would say $35-40!

Totes like that in this area go for at least $35. Very very nice!

I love the Lazy Girl patterns, have almost all of them, they make super cute totes and purses

stitchhappy 04-30-2010 06:44 AM

I agree. $40 should be more like it. People who can't sew will pay that. I think $20 isn't enough.

kkbrand 04-30-2010 06:58 AM

I think $40 would be more like it too, it is big enough to get that. Vera Bradley would charge $65+ for it.

littlehud 04-30-2010 08:22 AM

I agree. $40.00 is not overpriced.

I agree - it is super cute. I love the lazy girl designs. I agree with the other ladies - you are underselling yourself. Good luck with them!

Very pretty!!! :D:D:D
Are you selling these at the big craft fair/flea market there in Nashville? I went there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed looking at all of the vendors merchandise.

JanetM 04-30-2010 10:25 AM

Please reconsider your price. Your bags are well worth $40 each and I don't think you will have any trouble selling them for that price.

Your time and the materials to say nothing about the skills necessary to make these totes is worth something. Please don't sell yourself short.

Google tote bags, and you will see that $40 is a bargain!
Good luck on getting all of them made and please let us know how it goes.

I'm doing a craft fair at the Smithville Jamboree in Smithville TN on July 2-3. I've never done something this big before, so I have no idea how much to make!

And as far as the price goes, I know that they are worth more, but I don't want to price them too high and not have them sell. I'm putting them at a low price so they won't even have to think twice about the price. I know I'd whip out $20 for a bag, but think a second time about $40....but I might increase the price to like $30 or so...thanks for the input!

really cute

CarrieAnne 05-05-2010 12:56 PM

I really like it! Bet they sell fast.
