New Years Day project
1 Attachment(s)
My DH likes to watch football so that is uninterrupted sewing time for me!! I started with a panel of the Toy Story gang. It was awful with a wide, dark gray border on it. I didn't like it at all, so I cut it off. Then I started digging thru fat quarters and found some that picked up the colors in the panel, and found a yard of very light gray and another yard of a gray and white stripe. I started cutting and sewing and doing the math to make sure everything fit. This is what I came up with. It is not quilted yet and I think I will use the extra green fabric as binding, depending on what I put on the back. I had fun and it kept me busy this afternoon. The colors are actually brighter than the picture shows but you get the idea.

You did a fantastic job with that panel. It's bright and cheerful.
I love how you dressed up this panel! Great job. My grandson would love it!
You did a wonderful job on this! Sew cute.
So Lovely, any child (or grown up with an inner child) would love it!
Someone will fall in love with the quilt. Your changes and additions made it cheerful.
Very cute and the green for the binding will put it over the top perfect!
Really, really cute. The custom border really changes the quilt from generic to special.
Adorable! I love the brights that you added. But, you balanced it well with the gray. Love the idea of the bright binding color. Some little one is going to just love that quilt.
That is so cute. Panels can be terribly hard to showcase, especially if they are crooked!
That's adorable! I love how you did the borders. Great job.
I really like the first stripe border but then it continues to get better with each addition you added. Great little project.
Excellent job! You made that panel yours!
I love how you've done this quilt! It's beautiful.
That looks great love how you did the border and the fabric you chose.
Great job! Aren't panels fun?

Great job on this panel, and making it your own. I love the multi-color border to brighten up the panel, and the colorful binding will be the perfect frame to finish it. Some child will love this. In the past I used panels to practice free motion quilting, using the lines to outline features and characters helped me with control. It was so much more fun that practicing on a muslin scrap.
