New Year's Fun!
2 Attachment(s)
We may be starting a sewing group at my church, and I needed a simple quilt for folks to sew, since most of the ladies there have never seen before. After some thought, a rag quilt seemed the way to go, for fast results without tons of technical expertise. BUT I had never done one myself. So over the weekend, I made a test quilt and I'm quite pleased with the results! Can't wait to wrap up in my chair with it!! Oh dear! Another addiction may have been started!!

That is so perfect for this time of year....snugglely, colorwise, and sizewise.

Snuggle is the word. lol.. I would like to be snuggling in that pretty quilt. I like those colors too.
very nice job!!!
I used to LOVE making these. Fast and easy for your group to assemble together. Good thinking!
Wonderful project for newbies! I'd like to cuddle with your quilt too!
Very cute quilt!
FWIW, I made a flannel rag quilt for my pickiest daughter and gave it to her at Christmas. I was braced for a lukewarm response. (After all, they aren't difficult to make.) To my surprise, she was absolutely delighted with it! Imho, flannel (or homespun) rag quilts are a great way to introduce newcomers to quilting. So much "bang" for not a whole lot of effort, comparatively. |
looks nice and soft!
Very good 1st project.
Cute rag quilt!
Great project...I have not made one yet, maybe I should attend your class too.... have fun!
My late sister Harriet always made these rag quilts.....she was good at it. Thanks for the memory.
This looks like a great project for various skill levels. Let us know how it goes!
ps: Is that a shih Tzu? Adorable! |
They are fun to make and people seem to really enjoy snuggling under them!
So pretty!!!
Very nice quilt and it really looks snuggly to me.
job done well
Very nice quilt! I love your fabric combinations! I want to try to make one of these. A couple of months ago I bought the fabrics for one. They sell the special scissors at Joann's online. I still need to buy those. I have read that they make the job of cutting into your blocks much easier on your hands. Did you use regular scissors?

Great job on a snuggly quilt!
Very cute, cuddle quilt.

A little hard on the fingers with all that cutting but I love to make them.

Very pretty. Warm and comfy looking. Cute dog also. I sometimes put feet on my quilt too. Much easier for them to stand.
