Meemersmom, that is a great idea! I am going to do that.

Some have a penlight attatched to the frame where your machine is so they can use paper pantos or drawings. You could rig something up so you could do that. What kind of frame do you have?

oops its a laser light

Isn't it though? It was one of those "V-8" moments for me when she showed me. Duh!! How obvious, yet why didn't I think of that??? When I first learned it from her, I stopped at the hardware on my way home and bought my piece of plexi. I hope it helps you as much as its helped me.

Thanks all. I have a GQM frame, and can get the laser light for it, but haven't yet. I think I prefer free motion of my own to pantographs, but that may change. I like the idea of the plexiglass as well. I knew this was the place to ask questions.

I think for the 30's quilt, I want to design a specific design for the white areas, and just stitch 1/4 inside the lines for the print blocks. Very traditional.

There are so many things I want to do I can't decide what next.

Thanks!

You go girl!! This is just the first of many to come!!!

Not sure the pattern name. It was in a quilt magazine. (I know, not a lot of help, i must have 100 of them.)

I have the juki and GQF and the only time I marked a quilt was with the blue water soluble pen. (needs to be washed or sprayed after quilting) I had to slow my speed way down and then really concentrate to follow the lines. Very nerve racking

 I do best with free motion so I don't have to think. Good luck
