It's done. As requested, here are pics of it. It's not perfect, but it's good enough.

Thanks for all the help and encouragement!

Now on to the next project!

Looks great. Glad you finished it.

ManiacQuilter2 10-30-2014 09:12 AM

Glad you got it done. Quilting is like cooking, not everything comes out perfect. :)

Mariposa 10-30-2014 09:12 AM

Congrats on the great finish!

joe'smom 10-30-2014 09:32 AM

Good for you! It looks beautiful!

AUQuilter 10-30-2014 09:40 AM

Looks great! I like the border and binding really pulled it together. I have made many "unintended adjustments" to patterns over the years and if I didn't tell, no one ever knew. Very good recovery!

Cass62 10-30-2014 09:41 AM

Great job! Remember, just because a plan gets changed in the middle of a project doesn't mean it isn't perfect. Switching gears mid-stream can open the pathway to wonderful surprises!

SharonTheriault 10-30-2014 09:43 AM

Great job!

Doggramma 10-30-2014 10:32 AM

That turned out really pretty. Looks good!

BrendaK 10-30-2014 10:34 AM

And my theory is that nobody but you (and us) will ever know the difference! So glad that you finished it and it looks great!

Mrs Finch 10-30-2014 06:52 PM

Absolutely looks as if it was meant to be this design right from the beginning.

AngeliaNR 10-30-2014 07:44 PM

Who needs perfect? I think you did a great job with it. Congratulations on the finish.

heather1949 10-30-2014 09:31 PM

Congratulations you did an awesome job of it.

NJ Quilter 10-31-2014 03:13 AM

You did a great job pulling that one back from the brink of disaster! Unless you told folks there would be no reason to suspect that you never intended the quilt to look like that.

Homespun 10-31-2014 04:20 AM

it turned out great! Never give up!

sarahelloyd 10-31-2014 05:52 PM

Well done, it's only when I get something wrong that I learn from my quilting. Hope the person receiving loves it too!

bepositive 10-31-2014 06:05 PM

Beautiful!! :) :)

Looks great! Thanks for sharing with us....look forward to seeing your next one.

Your quilt came out great. I had to go back to the original thread to see why you needed to fix this. I couldn't have left it like it was. I think you made an excellent design decision. As Erma Bombeck, for those who remember her, would say "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." Now you know you can change anything up and create a new look to make it right in your eyes.

Geri B 11-01-2014 04:03 AM

....and you will always smile when you use that one..........

lclang 11-01-2014 04:06 AM

Looks fine to me...just want to snuggle in it!

Taughtby Grandma 11-01-2014 04:38 AM

I reallly like the way it turned out. I don't see a thing wrong with it, I like the way you changed to columns so it looks like a design element, very nice.

winia 11-01-2014 05:35 AM

Great finish. Quilt looks like it was designed that way.

katesnanna 11-01-2014 06:18 AM

Congratulations on finishing your quilt. I read somewhere, probably on QB "Done is better than perfect".

KenmoreGal2 11-01-2014 07:05 AM

Thanks for all the nice comments.

katesnanna - you reference the quote "Done is better than perfect". I always have that in mind when I make a quilt. It's definitely ok with me if it's not perfect, it's the thought that counts.

I also try to give my quilts to people who don't quilt so they will be less likely to notice my mistakes. :)

I'm very happy with this one. It's funny, before I quilted the top, all my little imperfections screamed at me. After it was quilted, they seemed to fade away. yahoo!!

mjhaess 11-01-2014 09:37 AM

Nope, I sew on a Kenmore! A 1958 model that used to be my Mom's.
