Newest Bargello

2 Attachment(s)
I just finished the top of my newest Bargello. It didn't quite turn out as I had visualized, but then my quilts rarely do. :)

This one is a bit wild. I am going to attach two pictures. One is turned 90 degrees from the other. I haven't decided which I prefer. I guess it doesn't really matter, as I have both, right?

Thanks for looking.

Dina

Wonderfully done with beautiful color choices.

nativetexan 02-14-2017 04:31 PM

there you go, sideways works for me too. lovely!!

dhsewsalittle 02-14-2017 04:34 PM

It's beautiful either direction. Those colors are delicious.

Of course, if it's going to be used as a lap quilt, it'll probably get turned every which way. :)

RedGarnet222 02-14-2017 04:46 PM

How pretty Dina! I love the colors in it a lot.

I don't know what you were expecting but I think it's gorgeous.

QM 02-14-2017 06:15 PM

Good work. Not that it matters, I prefer the second.

Ariannaquilts 02-14-2017 06:32 PM

I really like the first one best. I really want to make a bargello but the thought of all those seams :( I just can't do it. It just bothers me because of the quilting.

I don't do fancy quilting. I just SITD, but only every 3 inches or so. You ought to give it a try. I started with a place mat and was addicted immediately.

Well, I can't explain what I was expecting, and I didn't exactly follow a published pattern. I was experimenting with putting a white strip between two light purple strips. It ended up looking sort of "blurry" instead of sharp and precise. I should have put the white between the light blue and the darkest purple.

This was my first Bargello with a Bargello design program, and I learned a lot about how to use the program.

Thanks for your kind words!

Dina

Snooze2978 02-15-2017 07:32 AM

I like them both and I know you used that Bargello Stretcher program. You did a great job. Have you decided how to quilt it now? Love your colors, very nice.

fred singer 02-15-2017 02:34 PM

nice design

klswift 02-16-2017 08:37 AM

I think I would have to have it at the 90 angle because the other way I keep seeing the 'monster face' you mentioned before. But, either way, it is a beautiful quilt.

I agree actually, though I really want to prefer the other. All I see is that monster face too.
