This is my newest quilt..I'm not totaly thrilled how it turned out. But it was my first time doing pinwheel blocks..and the first time doing the binding the way I did it.
What do you guys think? Is it a keeper?

If you don't want it--you can send it to me!!!

Just kidding--it looks GREAT!

Rose Hall

ps. how's Morgan??

Jamie 03-04-2010 07:21 AM

Thanks Rose :)
Morgan is good..she had a cold ( fever runny nose ) But very kindly gave it away to me, and now she is fine. She is really doing well, there are days where you notice that she has brain damage, and is disabled, and there are days where she just looks almost like her old self.

LoisN 03-04-2010 07:28 AM

It looks good to me. I REALLY like the back. Reversable???
Lois

Jamie 03-04-2010 07:32 AM

Someone else asked me that too..I didn't make it to be reversable, but I guess it easily could be. :)

chewboo 03-04-2010 07:37 AM

lisalovesquilting 03-04-2010 07:53 AM

I agree, it's a keeper. Snuggly and fun.

DebsShelties 03-04-2010 01:11 PM

very pretty

Jamie 03-04-2010 01:31 PM

Very comfy cozy, the baby and I (both of us are sick) spent the day wrapped up in it on the couch. Mommy has fevers and headaches, and doesn't think moving feels very good right now. lol

alaskasunshine 03-04-2010 03:04 PM

i love it!!! i love the back too !!! i think pin wheels are so fresh looking & i love how you put in solid blocks of fabric in there too. your scrappy colors are awesome! i'll bet you are hooked now.

oh how did you bind it?

butterjoy 03-04-2010 03:05 PM

I have not done that style yet and I like what you did. Good job!

JoanneS 03-04-2010 03:20 PM

I like both sides! And I'm glad that you have time to sew again.

JJean 03-04-2010 03:51 PM

It's a keeper! Lovely quilt! :D :D

blahel 03-04-2010 03:53 PM

lovely quilt!

Jamie 03-04-2010 05:16 PM

I did my binding the way the book showed me, instead of making something up lol it even has semi proper corners ( mitered to the best of my ability lol )and I hand sewed the back of it..instead of doing just a SID on the front :)
I'm kinda debating doing some more pinwheels, just to perfect them ya know :) I enjoyed making this one...I just wished I had found and followed some directions or a pattern instead of flying by the seat of my pants.

Jamie 03-04-2010 05:17 PM

Joanne, Not much time to sew but some..I enjoy the 20 min or so a day I usualy have..:)

chris_quilts 03-04-2010 07:02 PM

The four blocks on the front, put an applique of some kind
on it or maybe some buttons. They stand out on the front because they're just there. Give them a little personality,
and the whole front of the quilt wil change. Otherwise, I love it. The back is very, very original. I like backs that are more than a piece of material. Really goodo

champagnebubbles 03-06-2010 08:12 AM

I like it You sure did a great job!

Bevanger 03-06-2010 09:26 AM

great job!

Jamie 03-06-2010 03:44 PM

Thanks everyone! I put it up on my bed last night, It was ment to be a lap quilt but it covers the top of my queen sized bed.
Thanks Winia for the suggestion, I actualy had gotten some appliques for it, but then I decided they would be better on a different project, so I left the blocks plain, except for the quilting on them.

mrsjdt 03-06-2010 04:08 PM

Of course it's a keeper!!! Just snuggle up and enjoy!!

sewsewquilter 03-06-2010 04:36 PM

Like both sides. Yes, it's a keeper. :-)

Jingle 03-06-2010 07:46 PM

Looks great, you should keep it.

SaraSewing 03-06-2010 07:48 PM

Keeper, heck ya! I love a pieced back. Your first, but not your last!

Pinkiris 03-06-2010 09:57 PM

Great quilt! I especially like the way you put the extra pieced borders on the top and bottom. I needed a quilt to be longer once, but wouldn't allow myself to just put extra borders on the top and bottom. Didn't think it was "proper" quilting procedure. Thought the quilting "police" would be at my door immediately!!!

Good for you for being so free and creative! I've learned a valuable lesson from you! Thanks...

Sue

I think it looks great and I love the back as much as the front!

gramquilter2 03-07-2010 12:45 PM

Love the look of your quilt. Nice back as you can use both sides.

Jamie 03-07-2010 03:00 PM

Sue, our quilts are our own little peices of art..atleast that is how I see it. Art follows no rules, it is just creativity and love. :)

kd124 03-09-2010 11:27 PM

Of course it's a keeper! Love how you did the back too.
