Newly completed charity lap quilts

5 Attachment(s)
Last month did not go very well. Between a jaw infection, TMJ, an infected stye and a sewing machine's computer breaking (under warrantee), I did not finish the charity quilts I'd started. 4 still remain as UFOs. These, however, are now done.

Chicken Salad is my fav.I bought the first yard off that bolt, went back 3 days later and bought the last one. None of these is a complex quilt, but each should keep a lap warm. all but the Deere one are for the local low income Sr housing. All have corderoy backings and Thermore (c) battings for extra warmth.

Like them all. Nice job. Sounds like they will be really warm.

These are very beautiful, and a bit unusual too! I'm co-chair of my local guild's charity committee, and I'm always looking for new easy patterns, and I really like what you have done!

Singerbabe, all of these are easy. although, of course, 3 are really the same. A more senior quilter in my guild told me one day that a charity quilt should be viewed as a gift to God. It does not need to be super complex, but should be well made and interesting to look at. I see some charity quilts that are dead boring. I try not to immitate them. Feel free to print any that interest you. Chicken Salad begins with half of a 1 yard piece, with corners cut off, quilted to backing and batting. 3/4 yd of fabric sliced in half works well too.

The first 2 involve fabrics I bought for the job. The others came from my stash.
