Nightmare Before Christmas
1 Attachment(s)
Not my style, but my daughter wanted me to make these stockings for her hubby as a Christmas gift. As he's my only son-in-law, how could I refuse?
He likes Halloween as much as Christmas, and I guess he loves the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. So....I made Jack, Sally, and Zero. Was my first time doing applique with felt. |
Cute. He'll love it!
sinceresissy: Gosh I hope so. Personally I found them pretty ugly! LOL
Great job! You hit it right on! He will love them, no doubt!
They are absolutely delightful. (I love Christmas but abhor the commercial frenzy proceeding the real Christmas season so I think of these weeks as the 'nightmare before Christmas') Jack Skellington, the Grinch and Scrooge all had a point even though they learned their lessons. LOL
Very nice and I am sure your son-in-law will love them.
Well done! I have the exact same stove.:)
tartan, is that right? It doubles as my ironing board. LOL
My daughter loves them. I will see if I can figure out how to make them. How did you make them?
Not MY thing, but well done.
i love them. my heart goes out to Jack, what a cutie, love his grin.
Very nicely done! Tim Burton is dark. Either you really like him or you really don't, in my opinion. I like most of his art, but I recognize that it is a category unto itself. I didn't like Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. I think he made the movie creepy. And I believe that sums up Tim Burton's style completely. He is dark and creepy. Perfect for a Nightmare Before Christmas. Your son-in-law will love these. You probably will be earning brownie points for being a cool mother-in-law.

You did a fabulous job and they are adorable!! He is going to love them!

Owlvamp: I found the sample pictures online in the "images" section. Then I traced pattern pieces by look, doing the best I could. After cutting it all out, I used two sided bonding webbing, and then stitched a super small zig/zag around the edges. "Scars" etc. were done with a satin stitch. The good thing about this project is the lines don't have to be perfect. Wonky stitches, uneven, etc, actually make it look more like the pictures I saw. Hope I am earning points. Will let you know! :) |
If he is happy with them then you did good. BrendaK

I just went through the same thing. My step daughter loves skulls, dragons, etc. Not my thing but we aim to please. Very sweet of you to do that.
I'm sure your SIL will appreciate you making them for him. LOL
Not my taste, either, but he'll like it and that's what counts. You did a terrific job!
You are a wonderful mother and MIL. You rock.
Nice work! Cute
You did a great job! You DO rock!!!
He will love them! How nice of you to make them even tho it's not your thing!
I think you did an awesome job on them. Not my cup of tea either but it is perfect for people that do love the characters. It is so nice to have such a variety of tastes so everything is not the same. That would be boring for sure. I'm sure he will love them

Cute stockings love Tim Burton movies too.
