My DH and I wanted to commemorate the states that we've visited, countries we've lived in (he's from England, and I've lived all over) or visited. He thought what I've already got started would be good, but he thought more colors would be awesome. I've got a map that I've hand embroidered with the dates of the places we've visited, or just me (and he felt a bit left out!)

This is the first miniature quilt of the 50 US states, since we live in NJ - I figured it would be a great start. I've sketched out the states and I'm going to do all of them in miniature form.

I'm going to put the dates, probably embroidered, maybe written, either on the label on the back or on the front that we visited/lived in the state, country or providence.

New Jersey is known as the Garden State (that's why I picked the veggies and fruit fabric), and I love going and picking my own fruit in the summer. :) There's tons to do here - so if you're not from NJ, it's actually much more than the show Jersey Shore - I promise.

I'm *thinking* of making a double and donating them to the AAQI, but we'll have to see how time allows.

This little quilt measures 8x11 inches. And I freehand sketched the outline of NJ.

That's perfect for NJ!! I'm from NJ (been in NC just over a year) and one of the things I miss most is fresh fruit and veggies, blueberries...mmmmm. Yes, there are fresh fruits and veggies here, but nothing like having a farm stand every couple of miles where I use to live. I look forward to seeing where you go next! :-)

I'm at the shore area, about 2 or 3 miles from the beach. :) My father used to be a lobsterman out of Brielle/Manasquan

Great idea and great mini Jersey quilt with the fresh produce on it. Soon we'll have some of the wonderful Jersey tomatos on our highway farm stands as well as some sweet Silver Queen corn.
Good to see so many "jersey girls" posting, I'm near GSP 117. May in Jersey

I was born in Newark and grew up in Manville but move to NY, FL and now TN so I love your little art piece and I challenged myself a couple years ago to make a quilted history for my daughter. Good luck on your project. Moosegirl

What a clever idea. I am thinking of borrowing it and making a quilt out of it. One for the memory banks. Thanks for sharing.

That is so cute. I'm originally from NJ, but I haven't lived there in 30 years. You make it sound like a great place to live and visit.
