I have been playing around with this for a while, and finally made the layout decision and got the top finished today. I rarely get a chance to make a pattern just for fun, as the need for comfort quilts keeps me busy, but this is one I wanted to make after seeing a post of something similar here on the board, I think.
I don't know where this one will end up, so I'm not going to back it yet. For now it will remain a flimsy.
I used some yardage from my stash for the sashings, the rest is all scraps I had. I didn't buy anything for this quilt!

Very pretty quilt. I am amazed about the 3-D dimension that it has. Someone will really enjoy this quilt.

I would back, quilt and bind it. Then it will be ready to go wherever you decide to send it. I find unfinished tops all the time because someone laid them aside to finish later, or whatever the reason. I can only hope to live long enough to get them all quilted!!

Like, like, like it. Great job and I love those blocks. I have several tops I need to put backings on quilt, but just haven't done it. I really wish as soon as I finished tops, I would have gone ahead and put backing on and quilted. Now, I just have unfinished tops and if anything happens to me, don't know what will happen to them, and I have invested too much time and money on them.

Very nice. I see one of these in the near future for the charity I make quilts for kids for. Great use of color.

The original one I saw on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/AbTazg...p86wm6wMBEH94/

I cut mine out a little differently than the one posted, and think mine was a little easier. Since each block only needs 2 HSTs, it was easy to use the standard method using 2 squares. If I were making all the "leaves" the same color, I would use the 8-at-a-time method.

I like , very nice .

Very pretty - thanks for explaining that you used 1/2 squares in the corners.

I think one could use novelty prints for the squares, then do a dark and light instead of the green for leaves and blue for sky... like black and lt. gray, or brown and tan... to give it that attic windows look. Then sashing as desired in go with colors. If I did this, I would make more blocks rather than use the extra sashing to gain size.
