Not a block I would do for an entire quilt!

A friend in UK won a lottery block of her choice and she chose this Patchy Heart Block from Quilterscache.com I don't mind making 1 or 2 of these but really would not want to make LOTS of these blocks for a quilt, not my 'cup of tea', had to use 21 different color fabrics and a cream background, mostly Thimbleberries fabrics. I like fast and easy, LOL.

I love the block. I to like fast and easy.

It really is pretty but does seem like a lot of work. Wondering if using a package of 5" Charm squares would work and then just cut the size of the squares needed for this block?
|
Ooooh, but this block is so beautiful. I really like the fabrics. :)

I love the block. It doesn't look too complicated. I would machine piece it and cut down on time involved. It would make a beautiful quilt.

Seems like a wonderful block to use up scraps. Make a beautiful scrappy quilt.

It made into a pretty block but I can understand how you feel. I like things faster as well.

There might be a faster easier way to make this but don't think so. It calls for 17 different 2" fabric sqs, and 4 different 3.75" qtr sq triangles. http://www.quilterscache.com/P/PatchyHeartBlock.html
Now I'm thinking that since this uses such small pieces of fabric/scraps, I might just sew some together now and then put them in a box until a bunch stack up and then finish off some more heart blocks. I do like the block Thinking too that 2-4 long 2" strips sewn together of different fabrics and then cut into 4 patches would work up fast. Hmmmm , might try that too. |
Love the pattern--wonderful for using up scraps. I know--just like you I like quick. Thanks for sharing! :)

Love the fabrics and color choices. I would make a whole quilt out of those.
