kwhite - you and I are alike in that I spend WAY too much time trying to "plan" scrappy. I did come across a quote recently that describes me and possibly you too - "Paralysis by analysis"

Wonderful block, K. I love the embroidery and I particulary like the block you set it in. You called it a crumb method? I know it as crazy quilt block. Anyway. Beautiful. |
How do you make crumb blocks? Do you just keep sewing pieces together until you have enough to square up to a block size? Do you sew over a muslin foundation or some other stabilizer? Curious about it.

Yes, you're right about the piecing. I did mine on muslin, then squared it up.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it K - it's really cute! I like it myself but I know what you mean about 'over thinking' here's a link to the tute http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/6951.page

It's really cute- you did a fantastic job on it!

Yes K3n that is exactly how I did it. No foundation. I just didn't enjoy it at all. I kept thinking how should I hack at it to get the most from the fabrics that are there and surely I have enough now to get a three and half inch block only to fine I needed a corner or just a wee bit. It was just frustrating.
