The top was already done- I just did everything else. The woman told me that her great great grandmother made it, but passed away before she was able to finish it. I told her I could finish it for her. Anyway she is giving it to her father for his birthday. I thought that was soo neat.
She did the top all by hand.

Wow, what a keepsake. I don't have anything from my great grandparents,(or great great) other than their genes!

Apple cores! I can't remember the last time I saw that pattern. What a classic!

Gee that is a ton of ties you had to do to get it finished. It looks great now all ready for pop's birthday. He is going to love it. Too bad we won't get to see pics of him getting it.

They were fantastic- I honestly didn't know what feed sack was until I worked on that quilt- there was 2 pieces that had to be feedsack- I am glad I got to finish it.

I know- I have her email address- I wonder if she would think I was weird if I asked her to send me a picture of him when he opens it.

this is kind of what was going through my mind. Working on someone's grandma's creation...feeling the pulse of the family. Helping to keep the connection going, between generations...what an honor to get to do that. I hope you get to see, at least a picture of his expression. Good job! :D
