That is fantastic. But you don't actually sit on it do you?

KatFish 10-19-2010 12:40 PM

Great chair. Love your creativity.

madelinkk 10-19-2010 12:51 PM

I have a chair my Papa made himself. He was a carpenter and carved the wooden parts by hand. I'll be looking for ties from now on to cover the seat.

hereca622 10-19-2010 12:54 PM

Too Cute!!! Great way to recycle both the ties and the chair.

bjnicholson 10-19-2010 12:55 PM

Where did you find all those red ties? The seats are beautiful!

perry 10-19-2010 01:34 PM

The way I do mine is to sew the ties together making one long string after cutting off the wide ends. and it only takes 21 ties . After I get my ties ready I will post pic showing each step. So get your chair and ties ready.

perry 10-19-2010 01:35 PM

Most of the ties were given to me and I got a lot at thrift stores.

Ditter43 10-19-2010 01:49 PM

You did a great job! It's a tedious process but, yours came out great! :D :D

quiltedlamb07 10-19-2010 02:04 PM

thismomquilts 10-19-2010 02:18 PM

I love these chairs - a friend bought one and the pattern to make another

Peggi 10-20-2010 03:55 AM

What a neat idea - I have been hoarding ties for quite awhile, I purchased a purse made out of them - just love it but cannot find a pattern for it anywhere I have looked. What you did was really clever.

Connie Merritt 10-20-2010 04:19 AM

Never toss the ties out. I made roses from my DH after he passed and placed them on what I call "memory pillows" and gave them to family. Your work looks great.

IBQLTN 10-20-2010 04:50 AM

OMG!! That is amazing!!!!! Love it... what gave you that idea? You've done an exceptional job! I would love to see a tutorial as well!! I have a HUGE bag of ties a lady wants a quilt made from, but there are going to be plenty to do something else with! That is to coo!!

Oops I meant to say I made roses out of the ties of my DH who passed away. Etc. etc.

PS: He was a rose and a beautiful one at that.

Connie Merritt 10-20-2010 09:09 AM

What a creative change from the traditional rush or caned seats. Beautiful colors. Is it from a pattern or is this your own design????
