Back in August I was in a terrible car accident and can't do much of anything. Before the accident, I had been working on many projects but can't really do any of them now. About a week ago, I did find that I had cut out a pair of potholders and a large hot pad that fits under a cake pans and cookie sheets. The other day I went to work. What should have taken me no time at all, took me all day but I was able to complete them. The fabric has a recipe card motif. One of the recipes is for gingerbread men so I traced my own ginger guy and quilted him, with ginger-colored tread, in the middle of the potholders and hot pad. I had previously used the same fabric to make an apron with the ginger guy appliqued on the bib.

Glad you are getting back to your projects.

That is cute! I am also glad you can get back to your projects. It is so hard to not sew!
|
Very clever! I like your gingerbread men as the quilting. That would make a nice gift along with cookie and bread pans and recipes for someone's birthday. It will take a good year before you start feeling better. Wishing you a faster recovery.

Hope your feeling better and soon back up to full swing with your quilting!

Hope you feel better soon. It's hard when you can't sew. |
Wishing you well, start small and keep taking a few stiches/steps every day!!

Glad that you were able to work on a project again. I really like that fabric.

Sorry to hear about your accident and hope that you will be better soon. Bet it felt good to get those cute pot holders done.

I am so sorry about your accident. Please be patient with yourself. This must have been a great accompolishment when you completed this project. Maybe just doing some smaller projects for a while will help you feel better about your recovery. I remember that after my cancer treatments, I could not think clearly enough to sew anything complicated, so did not sew anything for a while. The first things I sewed were potholders. My hubby walked into my room and saw me at the sewing machine and commented, "you are sewing again...now you are going to be OK".
Good luck and God Bless you with complete recovery...very soon! |
Good for you--getting back to what you love! Be proud of even small accomplishments and continue to heal.
