Dixie, you're doing a great job on this! I also followed Cutie's tutorial on this and have one in the works. She is a fabulous teacher! What I like about her method the best is that there is very little fabric waste because there is no fussy cutting.

OBW = one block wonder. That's a proper name of this block and there are books written about this block with that name. Hexagon is another name for it.

wow! This is wonderful. The fabric you have chosen makes a great variety of blocks. You'll be pleased when finished.

You're so right! Cutie tells you how to calculate how much fabric you need to get the repeats without wasting a ton of fabric. And though I did use 4 yards to cut the triangles, I'm using 99% of of that 4 yards.
How is your OBW coming along?

Thanks again, everyone for looking at my work and all your kind words!
More blocks to sew today and cobbling together a design wall so I can look at the hexes together...
Pictures by dinnertime!

your choice of fabric is beautiful and looks like the quilt will be even more beautiful when finished! I look forward to seeing it completed.

The material is gorgeous and the quilt will be also. You are doing great. Forget the beginner stuff, you are way ahead of that.

One Block Wonder. It's the title of a book by Maxine Rosenthal and people use the name to describe a block made by her method.
