If you use a hinged mirror to preview your fabric print, you can get an idea of what your hexagons will look like. I did this until I trained my eyes, as what to look for, in a print.

Once I started doing Stack & Whack I never looked at fabric the same way again. I was always looking for the repeats. S&W is the same principle as OBW but with 12 blades.

Woody, I love your triangle addition. I have cut out an OBW, placed the pieces and triangles, but can't figure out how to sew and press each line so as not to get lumps at the seam joints. Any cues you could give would be very appreciated!

I pressed all my seams open, and it still is a bit bulky at the centre of each hexagon but not too bad. I jut gave it a good moosh with the iron lol

Thank you for the quick response. I'm starting now!

Yes, I too pressed all the seams open. If you're careful to keep them all open, especially when you sew the strips together, they won't be too bunchy at the centers of the hexagons.

It's just beautiful. You got all those different blocks from the same fabric? How do you do that? OBW?
