Gorgeous quilt! Love the addition of the cubes too!! :) :) :)

Cha 11-15-2011 10:12 PM

Thanks to all who commented on my OBW. It was wonderful to see everyone kind words about it.I would say if you havn't tried one please do...you will be amazed how nicely it goes together. A hint is: sew everyday on it and you will be amazed how fast it goes together. The placeing of the blocks is what took the longest for me. I think I would have done just as well to place it up and sew it! I could have 3 quilts finished now. LOL Oh wee, this is almost finished and I love it!
Thanks again and try it you will like it : )

This is a beautiful quilt!! But have to ask why do you put the cubes in or is that considered part of an OBW?

To answer the question why the cubes? I had it on my design wall for months arranging and rearranging the blocks. I couldn't get them right for some reason. So, I thought let me try a few cubes. WaaLa it worked for me! When I look at my quilt I see a big picture window under the ocean..watching the currents and swirls of the waters...that calm beautiful flow.....and possiably a few hidden treasures in there too : ) Can you see it too?

QuiltforPD 11-17-2011 06:28 AM

lynndianne 11-17-2011 06:49 AM

It's amazing how you can take a piece of fabric and turn it into that wonderful art work.

I couldn't agree more! I'd never heard of this pattern before but after seeing how great yours turned out, it's on my "to do" list.
