Why would I waste time looking for an error when I can soak up the beauty before my eyes??? This is delicious in every way!!!!

JoyjoyMarie 09-30-2012 07:52 PM

The errors are the most obvious to the maker!! I think it is a sumptuously beautiful quilt, and I love the little echos of the idea in the borders!! Just terrific!

Found it thanks to MTS. I wouldn't worry about the quilt police coming after. Of course if it bothers you so much you do seem to have lots of offers from the board to hang that disgraceful quilt in their homes-me included. Great job!

Narda, Stack and Whack patterns are similar in the pinwheel effect, but much different in execution.
This is from the One Block Wonder book and give a million more time bang for the buck ;)

I love these quilts and yours is spectacular. Did not see the "mistake" until you pointed it out.

SheriR 10-01-2012 05:10 AM

Well it's beautiful. I searched and searched but couldn't find it on my own. But I bet your eye goes right to that spot when you look at it. Just remember "she'll be apples." :D you do terrific work!

Yooper32 10-01-2012 06:13 AM

I have never been a OBW fan, but you have taken it to a whole different level and made an absolute thing of beauty. If there is a boo-boo, nobody but you will ever know.

psailer 10-01-2012 07:33 AM

Beautiful quilt. Never heard of an OBW. How do you do that?

solongrandma 10-01-2012 10:21 AM

I WISH I knew how to do that. It is stunning.

collady 10-01-2012 10:53 AM

Okay. If there is an error, you are the only one who knows! BEAUTIFUL!

MimiBug123 10-01-2012 10:57 AM

This is gorgeous! I found the mistake, but only after looking for quite a while. I love the way cutting make blocks look so different from the original fabric. Super job.

Vat 10-01-2012 11:45 AM

Yes, I found the piece that is in wrong, but it is a lovely quilt. I really like your border.

Vat 10-01-2012 11:49 AM

It is a 60 degree triangle. It is also known as a Stack 'n ' Whack. You stack 6 matching layers , cut , and sewing. They are very easy. But there are lots of bias and if you STARCH your fabric before cutting it out you will have better luck. The helps to keep those bias from stretching. You should try one.

Love, love, love She'll Be Apples! And one of the best things about the OBW is how forgiving it is -- mistakes are nearly impossible to find. I'd swear you'd fussy-cut some of those hexagons, they are just so perfect.

maxnme01 10-01-2012 02:07 PM

"IF" you have a mistake it's invisible! Didn't you mean it as a design opportunity???? LOL

ube quilting 10-01-2012 02:27 PM

I've watched this beauty grow and it finished with a big awesome! Love the border treatment. No mistakes through my eyes! Just beautiful! The original fabric is perfect for the OBW pattern and you quilt is proof of it.

Why would I look for a mistake? Your quilt is beautiful. How small are the small squares in the border? I'm in awe.

Bonnie P 10-01-2012 04:00 PM

I love it and sure don't see your mistake.

Iraxy 10-01-2012 04:06 PM

I found it but I had to look really hard. The quilt is really beautiful. If you are not happy that someone found the error, you can always send it to me :) :)

I found it but no one else will ever find it.....a petal is backwards in one of the hex's on the lower right. I am a nurse and have been taught to notice every minute detail. Sorry that I found it so quickly.
