I thought the print was a bit small but I wanted to do a practice one so I gave it a try. I had 3 1/2yds - 7 3/4" repeat, cut my strips 3 1/4", and got 80 hexs. I still have 1yd left. I think it came out okay actually...

Hi Jemma, it's 34" x 58" but by the time all the hexagons are sewn together it will be a fair bit smaller ;-)

It's great...maybe I'll start mine before I die! LOL I really do like it...surprised me how nice the colors worked after seeing the fab first. WTG :)

well, now that i have seen the actual quilt i love it. at first i only saw the fabric and thought it was the obw. i am sorry to say i thought you were crazy. lol!

however, once i scrolled down i was awed by the real thing. just lovely.

 Gee, thanks Pat . Maybe I should have put the picture of the quilt first and the fabric second :?

I think it's beautiful - really elegant. OBWs don't have to leap up and smack you round the face to work. LOL. I love the way you've got the dark red blocks running through the diagonal. If I could be so bold as to make a border suggestion (which of course you're free to utterly ignore if you like! LOL) - I'd do a skinny inner border (1/2" say) of a toning dark red then an outer border slightly lighter, or even the original fabric if you had enough. Otherwise a tan fabric. But like I said, ignore me if you like!

This will be a beauty when its done!
