How do you finish up these quilts?
Gorgeous!! I have no idea!! I have never made one of those!

I'm guessing you're asking about doing the binding on those staggered edges?
Here's a how-to on doing inside corner miters (with great pictures): http://thriftyquilter.blogspot.com/2...-tutorial.html That's a really fun quilt (although I think it need a ton more quilting). As noted, if you haven't yet cut your binding, I'd also suggest using bias binding. The one time I did it, it made life a lot easier just having that extra bit of give. This method doesn't require it (but I'd do it anyway): http://www.quiltville.com/binding.shtml Go all the way down, almost to the bottom of the page, to Irregular Bindings. Just go slowly, and check each corner before doing the next (just like you would on normal binding...you go another few inches, and then fold the miter to just to make sure it's correct). Good luck! GORGEOUS quilt top! |
I have no Idea but I love this, what is the name of it?
Double WOW!
I have no idea how to finish it but it is absolutely stunning. Can't wait to see it finished.
That is so cool looking.
I'd be either filling it in , or straight cutting the edges. LOL I'd never get binding on those angles well enough.
Wow, nice! Have no idea.

I think you'd have to cut some "squares/hexagons" in half to fit in as "setting" trapezoids; OR... cut solid trapezoids to fit the outside edges. Then bind as usual...probably with a pieced (colorful) binding. Where ever you got that, are there not finishing instructions???
YES! What is the name of that interesting pattern? I see at least 4 different variations! Whew! |
