It turned out fantastic! Did you cut or sew the 4 squares for each block in a particular way? There are some cool secondary patterns showing up in some of the blocks.

I think it turned out beautifully. So restful and serene - just like being in a flower garden. Glad you persisted.

I stacked four layers of fabric in the EXACT place on the fabric; all layers with outside of the fabric facing up. Using a point of reference on the fabric I pinned through all 4 layers in the exact same place. I then cut out 4 1/2 squares insuring that the corners of the 4 1/4 ruler was in an interesting place on the fabric. Then I looked at what each blocked looked like by auditioning the four corners facing the middle and chose the best one and sewed them together into a 4 patch.

I think this fabric is too busy for a four patch posy and that is why I questioned finishing it. Not all the blocks are easy to read as a 4 patch posy, but I like it anyway. I am going to do another one, but I will find a fabric more suitable. I love the process of creating the kaleidoscope effect.

I saw the one below on the board: made in black and tans with a beautiful border on it...it is so, so stunning and it got me thinking about making one and I just used fabric I had on hand. I can hardly wait to go shopping for a more suitable fabric and hopefully create one as lovely as the black and tan one. I don't remember who on the board made it, but I have not stopped thinking about it since I first saw it.

I know you will love creating one yourself.

Blessings, Char

This block does not read as easy as others

I missed your earlier posting, but think your quilt came out just wonderfully. Oh yes! It's neat how cutting all the blocks in a certain way can bring out a whole other design. And i like the quilt that was your inspiration, too!
