Ohio Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
Here's a small 2'x 2' quilt I made to hang on my sewing room wall showing all 88 counties in Ohio using batiks.

Go Bucks!

Oh, wow, looks great!

sewbizgirl 10-10-2018 06:06 AM

Really nice! Were the counties appliqued? Surely not pieced!

so lovely. Your quilt is a marvelous tribute to your state.

Very well done!! I love batiks, they are such a pleasure to work with and I love the colors you chose.

Sallybear6 10-10-2018 09:20 AM

Impressive! That took a lot of time and research.

osewme 10-10-2018 11:59 AM

Very well done & impressive. There are 254 counties in Texas & some are very small. I don't think I could ever make a wall hanging like yours but would love one.

LindaMRB 10-10-2018 01:14 PM

Nicely done. I like what you did with the quilting. Here in Georgia that would be 159 counties.

WOW! That is amazing and so pretty.

redquilter 10-10-2018 03:38 PM

That came out great! Makes me want to do one for Massachusetts.

Well, that is just too cute. Did you have a pattern or did you make your own?

jlt37869 10-10-2018 05:09 PM

Really cool!

EmiliasNana 10-11-2018 07:21 AM

WOW, our 5 yr. old grandson would love that. He is interested in maps of all kinds and is constantly quizzing his parents on the capitals and population statistics. I am never playing trivial pursuit with him, his memory is photographic.

StephanieR 10-11-2018 07:39 AM

Wow, that's fantastic! Was it a pattern or did you work from a map?

Pam S 10-11-2018 08:17 AM

Very nice! Love the circular quilting!

retiredteacher09 10-11-2018 02:28 PM

I printed off a county map from the Internet and with my overhead projector, I traced it to a muslin base. I traced each county onto freezer paper and ironed to the batiks. I cut some of the batiks a little larger than the freezer paper so that they would lay beneath the surrounding county. Then I used Elmer glue and glued the pieces to the muslin base and then quilted.
