I made this quilt for my younger son Preston. The quilt was a block of the month from Oklahoma Quiltworks in Oklahoma City and is made from batiks. I used a thinner batting called Quilter's Dream so it might be cool enough to use year around. I used one block to embroider his name, birthdate and birthplace but I just realized that I forgot to put a tag on the back with my name and year of completion! I've always hand-quilted my quilts and this is the first time I've used my sewing machine to quilt so it was a learning experience!

That's beautiful, Vanessa. I love Quiltworks and also visit Patchwork Place in Norman. There's also a newer shop on N May Ave a little past 63rd I think, It's call the Savage Quilter, nice also. Wish we had more to visit.
