She made the quilt from a photograph of the harbor somewhere in South Africa... Capetown? She devised her own technique for doing the reflection on the water. It's NOT paper pieced. I was astounded that it didn't get Best in Show. It will somewhere....

It did. It was the best of show at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in 2016. Said it took her a year to make and had over 8400 pieces!
