"Old Meets New" Dresden

I found this unfinished quilt top in an antique shop this past spring....well I fell in love with it, so after dealing with the owner I bought it for almost half the price she was asking....I paid 80$....my bad is that I forgot to take a photo of the unfinished top before I took it apart but I did take a photo of the blocks on the clothesline....I took a chance...thy needed washing and I wanted them to smell fresh....I starched them before cutting them to the size I wanted. Thy are made with 30s 40s 50s type fabric....and the stitching is not bad....there were a couple issues with the muslin background fabric ( a few little pin holes), so I just ironed some stabilizer behind a couple of the blocks. I used some repo fabric as well as a few pieces of vintage fabric I had for the sashing as well as pink fabric I had....so....this is what I came up with....it came out pretty big....could even fit a king......I love it...now on to be quilted......

WOW - nice find and nice save! I see that they were hand sewn down on the muslin squares - were they also had pieced together???

The patchwork sashing really enhances the quilt. Very good job of giving new life to an old unloved quilt!
