Old Mountain Mist Batting Wrapper/Pattern

3 Attachment(s)
Found this in a box of my mother's old sewing scraps last weekend. Imagine the days when you could buy batting for less then $2 and get a quilt pattern printed on the back! I'm hoping to display this as a poster somewhere in my home, but so far I haven't figured out a good spot for it.

What a treasure! Enjoy.

What a find! I would carefully iron the wrinkles out and frame it with a poster frame.

That is great, what a treasure. They look like lovely patterns. Thank heavens we quilters don't like to throw anything away!

quilterpurpledog 11-15-2016 05:20 AM

Yes, I remember those! Wish I had one. I'm "old" and I love old stuff. This is a treasure. I hope you find a place to display it.

What a fun find!

I have one and I love it. I made a Mountain Mist quilt from a book of old MM quilts. Quilt is called "Sunflowers" and it was really fun to make. The directions were easily followed and I will probably do another one of these days. I like the idea of framing the pattern
. I would frame it between 2 sheets of glass so you can still see the pattern.

That's so neat! I would frame that as a poster also. I remember my mom having the batting but of course never noticed the graphics.

jmoore 11-16-2016 03:26 AM

Cool find...definitely worthy of showcasing in a poster frame.

Frankie 11-16-2016 04:07 AM

Wow, lucky you, to have found something so neat that your mom saved. Hope you can get it framed and up soon.

I believe it was Pat Sloan that just had a guest from MountainMist on her podcast this week talking about these quilt patterns

What a great piece of history and also very sentimental. I would want to frame it and put it over my sewing station.
peace

l still have one from when l first started quilting...called ''dancing daffodils''... it was way past my abilities at tge time, but liked/kept it. Thanks for the reminder...l may be able to tackle it now, 35 yr experience under my belt, lol!

cashs_mom 11-16-2016 07:09 AM

How cool! From someone who has a LOT of old advertising signs in her house, this would look awesome on the wall. Framed or unframed, it would look great.

Fabric shack has patterns for sale from mountain Mist for $3.50 each. Not pictures of all of them, but am sure they are pretty. Lucky find, so glad you have it as it is a piece of history.
