The block isn't square and the pieces don't even come close to matching up - I just slapped this together so I could try FMQ. I am very much a "want to try this right now" person...I think with lots of practice I will be able to do this! Will probably always be too scared to work on a real quilt though.

Any and all tips/help will be welcome...
Off to practice, practice and practice some more. I am so excited - I finally tried FMQ.

WooHoo!!! :D:D:D You are doing great on your FMQ :D:D:D
Keep going, I can't wait to see more!!!

I don't see any mismatching. The colors are great and so is your FMQ. I don't think I could have done as well. I have only done some hand quilting so far.

Oh, you really need to try this. It is so much fun! Just slap together a small little square and go for it. Can't see me getting much done today other than playing at FMQ.

Thanks ladies for your encouragement.

LOoks great! And... it appears you know the first tip...
Practice,Practice,Practice!

It gives me some inspiration to get off my backside and practice some more myself!

You are well on your way!

I gave it a first try this week, dont think I will get the hang of it. Very strange looking results.LOL But, I will try again, sometime when I get bored. And that's not likely to happen since I spend way too much time on the QB.

Your tension looks really good! Keep on going.

Kate 06-26-2010 10:58 AM

Looks like you are doing a good job. You are giving me confidence of trying it.

marsye 06-26-2010 11:03 AM

That looks just pretty darn good to me!!!!

candlequilter 06-26-2010 11:32 AM

The hardest part you seemed to have tackled and that is just giving it a try. So many people stop before they even try it. And look at what you have accomplished. Good job! I don't see why you are hesistating at all about doing a whole quilt. Keep up the great work.

sandyl 06-26-2010 11:43 AM

You did great!

littlehud 06-26-2010 05:50 PM

Not bad at all Practice Practice Practice

Maride 06-26-2010 06:05 PM

You are doing very well. Remember you don't need to piece something to quilt it. You can just make a sandwich with whole pieces and quilt away. The more you do the better you will feel about the results. Have fun.

franie 06-26-2010 06:05 PM

You are doing "good"!
