A finished picture of the memory quilt I made for my son's birthday. I got it done in time! Whoo hoo! :D One on the way and one more to go for Christmas... for each of my two older boys. The third one will be done in blues. I think the most fun I had was going through all the pictures, deciding which ones to use. They brought back so many memories. I hope you like them as much as I like making them.

I have never seen a memory quilt like this one. I just love it. Did you applique all the pictures? I'm doing a memory quilt with all different size pictures and it's very hard. Is this a pattern you found?

You have become a very accomplished quilter & I am so proud of you - keep up the good work sis. xxxooo

My pattern is from eaglesnestdesigns.com It is called Cheery-O. The pictures are pieced. They can be pieced, appliqued, reverse appliqued, or fused. I just chose to piece them. It is hard to do, but after doing two of them, I think I am getting the hang of it. hehe Glad you like it.

No, we are not twins. She is my older sister... but by only 3 years. She is my rock and my bff! I love her dearly. I wish we lived closer. We love to go fabric shopping together (well, any kind of shopping, really) ;-) and enjoy the same kinds of things. I really miss her, but we keep in close touch online and on the phone.

Glad you like the quilts... I am still new at this and struggle with every one, although it sure is fun!!

How did you copy the photos? That is the part that is stopping me from doing a memory quilt, and I really want to make one. Thanks for the information; your quilts are fabulous.

hperttula123 09-27-2010 06:28 PM

that is awesome. I've always wanted to do one of those, but yours is way nicer than what I was picturing.

I scanned the photos and then printed them on Printed Treasures fabric paper... just ran it through my printer. That isn't the only brand of fabric paper, but I was told it was the best. I don't know... haven't used another brand. It was sure pricey though! Around here it sells for $41.99 for 12 sheets! I bought it at Joann's and always used a 40% off coupon. I got one large picture per sheet, or two small pictures per sheet. Glad you like the quilts. They are sure fun to make :D
