So I'm doing my first dresden plate quilt, I had a few ideas floating around in my mind and thought I would give it a try. So here are a couple pictures, the block is not perfect but it gives my idea hope.

Very nice idea. Is this going to be a wall hanging or are you doing a bigger quilt and using QAYG to put it together?
peace

Nice block! I too am considering a dresdan plate quilt. If you don't mind a hint I found the neatest way to make the centers actually circle shaped is to do it like a yoyo. Draw a cirlce the size u want the center to be and make a template out of poster board or nonmelting plastic, add the 1/4" seam allowance, hand sew around the circle just inside the 1/4" seam allowance, insert the template, pull the thread tight and tie off. Press w/iron. Remove template and "walla" perfect circle every time. I collect all kinds of circles from lids, cd's, etc. they're everywhere. Try it, its sooo easy. Looking forward to seeing your finished quilt! :-P :-P

I like it! One thing quilting has taught me is that it does not have to be perfect to be pretty.
